At Ekofolio we’ve made it our mission to take the complexity out of timberland investments. Our flagship EKO tokens (EKO) are backed up by a dynamic portfolio of forests that will grow in diversity and sophistication over time.
If a forest consists mostly of very young trees, then it will take some time before the trees can be harvested for their wood. However, young forests provide great opportunities for capital growth, as the trees become much more valuable as they mature.
Older, more mature forests that are ready to be harvested are a lot more expensive to purchase, but can typically provide almost immediate and regular income as the wood can be harvested and sold relatively quickly.
Finally, some forests have a good mix of young and mature trees as well as a diverse mix of species being grown, so that a continuous cycle of growth and harvesting can be implemented, providing for a steady cash flow, year after year.
Forest assets globally are diverse in their characteristics, and provide for a wide range of investment possibilities and returns in different markets.
